Marco Ferreira

Backstory

I am Marco Ferreira, a good-natured, fun-loving, respectful young guy with many passions and interests in life.

When I arrived at Hogwarts, I was sorted ultimately into Ravenclaw. It was initially a hatstall between the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw Houses, but my love for creativity and respect for individuality and freedom is what I cherish most in life. Taking this into account, the Sorting Hat was delighted to sort me into Ravenclaw House after revealing this information to me.

I am ever the true Ravenclaw, fascinated with learning and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I wanted to learn as much about magic as I could. I diligently attended my classes and strived for academic prowess. It was difficult choosing my favourite class, as I enjoyed all of them thoroughly, although Herbology held a special place in my heart. When the time came, I took Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes as my two elective courses in my third year attending Hogwarts.

I am a pure-blood, and my relatives include those of ancient wizarding families, the Black (father's side) and Smith (mother's side) family lines. ("Ferreira" literally means "Black smith" in Portuguese). Both my twin brother and my father are Slytherins, while my younger brother and mother are happy Hufflepuffs. I was the odd one out, but didn't mind being the exception. I loved my Ravenclaw brother and sisters and fellow students at Hogwarts.

My greatest strength would probably be my compassion (and creativity). My greatest weakness is that I'm prone to be self-absorbed and put myself first, even if it's not the most honourable thing to do.

After graduating Hogwarts, my fascination with all things living and fantastical made me become a Magizoologist and Herbologist. I also love brewing my own potions as a personal hobby.

For me, the most fascinating thing about magic is how it can be used to save and conserve life. How the impossible becomes possible. The freedom, the boundless choices, the reward that comes with being a wizard.

I love taking care of and researching magical creatures, both fauna and flora. I have a pet and companion barn owl, called Rowan. My wand is of Rowan wood as well, with a Phoenix feather as the core. I currently live on an island, but enjoy travelling every now and then to exotic locations to learn new magic, cultures and creatures.
