Backstory

I come from a family of pureblood Slytherins. My brother was sorted into Gryffindor, (while I am in Slytherin) so my family tends to favour me, however this means I have a lot of pressure to do well in school. My family wants me to get into potions like my uncle but to be honest, I'd prefer to pursue studies in the dark arts. I know we're supposed to be learning to defend against them, but to be honest, the actual spells are sorta fascinating. Is that bad?
