Backstory

My birth father, a muggle, died before I was old enough to remember him, so I grew up with my mother who was estranged from her pure-blood family for being with a muggle. My mother raised me around muggles and sent me to a muggle school, but she also taught me wandless magic since Ollivander’s was too far to travel at the time. She became ill and died when I was ten, so I started living with my father’s brother who was abusive. After I got my Hogwarts letter, my mother’s side of the family found me and took me to get my supplies. Despite being impressed be my magical abilities at that age, they weren’t much better to me than my uncle because I was a halfblood. They sent me a howler when I was sorted into Hufflepuff instead of Slytherin.
