I was raised as a muggle, by my muggle grandmother, Grandma Emy - I was named after her. My mother disappeared when I was 3 years old. I sometimes have faint memories of her.
I knew of Hogwarts from Grandma telling me stories before bed. She had a journal that my mother used when she was at Hogwarts. This is where she got the stories. My grandmother, being a muggle, never attended Hogwarts. She isn’t even British. She moved here with my grandfather after they were married. My grandfather was a wizard but was taught wizardry from his parents rather than attending school for it.
I don’t actually know anything about my father. My grandmother never really said much about him.
When I received my letter from Hogwarts, I was very excited. My grandmother is the best! When I told her about it and showed her the letter she squealed. She helped me gather all of my things and smiled so brightly while taking pictures on her disposable camera. (She still doesn’t get how to work most modern technology.) We hugged so tightly before I left on the Hogwarts Express and she said, "Mind your professors, and most importantly, be your best."
