Backstory

Sophia Ariani. That name would forever be known to many people as, well, nothing. A just barely recognizable thought in the files of peoples minds, her name resided in the heads of so many witches and wizards, covered in dust, never once touched.
That woman wrote an article on the mythical bird, the phoenix, in her early twenties. This was shortly after she had graduated Hogwarts with flying colors. She had taken every elective available to her at the time, wanting to achieve as high marks as possible.
The article brought much new information to light. Strange eating habits, new discoveries on the magical biology of the phoenix itself, and much, much more. However, she was quickly pushed out of the spotlight, as is the way with fame. The clock on her popularity had been ticking, and the bell had finally tolled on her success. By the time she was 27, she was all but forgotten.

That woman was also a mother to a little girl named Dalia.

For years we lived in the shadows of the towering threat of my mother's pasts no other company than the magical creatures she had cared for at the time.
What kept me sane in all of this isolation was examining the creatures. I frequently jotted down notes about their behaviour, until eventually, I had a whole chart of information for each indivual one hanging on my wall. I immersed myself in my mother's old textbooks, reading through a full book in only 2 or 3 days. They transported me out of the dull forest, into another world of information. Needless to say, I quite enjoyed reading.

And then my letter arrived.
