Backstory

Hi! I'm Katanja (Kah-tahn-yah). My dad is a wizard and my mom is a Muggle. It was very weird for her when she found out my dad was a wizard. I think she was surprised when I turned out to be a witch, as well. It sort of brought back the shock of it all, I think.

I'm a very proud Ravenclaw, but the Sorting Hat also considered putting me in Slytherin. My favourite classes are Charms, Transfiguration, Divination, History of Magic, and Muggle Studies. I don't particularly like Potions, but I'm not bad at them.

Thankfully, my family wasn't in the UK during either Wizarding War, but we had family that was, and not all of them made it through the war. I don't think any of them were battle casualties, but there are some relatives that we actually don't know what happened to them.

I can't decide if I want to be a teacher or work for the Ministry (not sure what department) after I finish Hogwarts, but I'm leaning toward being a teacher. I love learning and teaching people new things that I'm passionate about.
At home, I have an Owl named Hera; she's a little Scops owl and very energetic. Joining me at Hogwarts is my Russian Blue cat named Poseidon. He's still a kitten, but acts like an older cat; very affectionate and lazy.

I'm hoping to make some great new friends, and especially to learning new skills and strengths and working on the aspects of Magic that I'm not very good at. Defense Against the Dark Arts is probably going to be my worst subject, but I'm still very anxious for the class, so I can get better. I think it's important to always try to improve one's self; there's always room for improvement.
