BACKGROUND STORY
Satomi Igarashi was born on October 10 just 5 months
before her father and mother died in an accident,
when she was just a small child. Satomi spent her first
5 years in an old orphanage in Japan, until the day she got adopted
by her uncle, Kaito, and his british wife. Since that day, she had
lived just outside a small village in England with her uncle
as the only relative she could rely on and with a blurred memory
of her parents. She never knew how her parents died or how her
uncle suddenly knew about the incident. Those are only few of the
things her uncle refuses to talk with her about.
The only things she knew about her parents and family,
was that they were fullblod wizards and witches.
Her uncle moved to England because of his job position as a specialist
regarding exotic potions, and then met Elizabeth Quentyn whom he
eventually fell in love with. Since then he had been living in England
while maintaining his job.
Satomi grew up in a house Kaito had bought with his Elizabeth
- with the fields as their front yard and the forest as their backyard.
Satomi had a hard time learning English at first, but eventually it
became easier as it was the main spoken language in the house
- her uncle would almost never communicate with her in Japanese.
Only if it was very important and when she had no clue about
what they were saying.
At the age of 10 she was (what she would call) fluent in English with
only a small touch of the Japanese accent. She had learned the grammar system,
her vocabulary had been expanded and she could finally control the pronunciation.
Oh, and she had learned a lot about the magical world that she had been
unknown about. Mostly through books as she practised her reading skills in English,
but also through watching her uncle doing some work or Elizabeth doing chores
before she headed to work. Elizabeth is also a pureblood witch and in that way,
met her uncle through the Ministry of Magic. She told Satomi about Hogwarts,
the wizarding school she would eventually attend, and about all her young
days when Elizabeth herself attended Hogwarts.
Satomi has been exited from the moment she knew about magic and Hogwarts.
She couldn't wait to attend and it was if her life was back to normal again
after her rough childhood.
