Backstory

Hi! I was sorted into Hufflepuff because that's where all of my morals and values lie. I'm a bit shy so thank goodness I wasn't a hatstall - phew - all those eyes... thank goodness I was only up there for a second or so before the Sorting Hat made it's decision! It's my first year, so I haven't taken any classes yet, but I'm very interested in Charms - I find it fascinating! I don't think that I'd find Potions very interesting - as a naturally clumsy person, it makes me a bit nervous. I am muggleborn - it was a bit of a surprise when my parents found out. Thankfully, I haven't had any issues with anyone who is obsessed with blood purity, though I'm not exactly yelling my blood status around the school, to be frank. I was not in the UK during Voldemort's reign - I have always lived in the United States, even though my family did consider moving to the UK for a brief period - but... that hope was quickly gone once my parents found out about Voldemort. Not that I'm complaining (much), since there are still letting me go basically across the world to go to Hogwarts. My greatest strength is my loyalty - it's where I'm at my best. I'd do anything for my friends - I'm very protective of them. My greatest weakness would probably be my strong social anxiety - I often struggle to make friends since I'm so shy and it takes me a long time to warm up to people. I don't know what I'm really looking for after I finish school yet. This is my main focus for right now, I guess. Since I am a muggleborn, there isn't really any particular part of magic that I don't find fascinating - it's all so incredible! I certainly want to use magic to help others - helping others has always been my interest. But if I'm being honest with myself... I don't really know what I want. I just... want to be happy - and makes others happy along the way. I have a barn owl - her name is Pallas, based off of the old Greek Legend of Pallas Athene. Like me, she's a curious creature, a little too curious at times I'd say. But really I love her because she's a great, loyal friend. There isn't much to my family. Both of my parents are only child's - just like me. There's not a whole lot of room for oddities or disagreements, which is perfectly fine by all of us, considering that we all dislike confrontation. And... yeah! That's all about me!
