Backstory

I am not a Pureblood. I was supposed to be in Ravenclaw. And I am not British.

I’m glad we’ve got that straightened out, ‘cause I don’t want you to think that just because I’m in Slytherin, I’m a Pureblood. I’m not. In all technicalities, I’m a Mudblood. But don’t tell my professors I said that. I don’t want them to get the wrong idea.

Okay, so my mom and dad were Muggles (or No-Maj’s as we say in America), that’s all I really have to say about them. But you’ve also read that I’m not a Brit. It’s true. I’m an American, California bred and everything. Born by the beach. The purple moutains majesty could be seen from my backyard. We have a bald eagle in the zoo a couple miles from my home. I was supposed to go to Ilevermorny, but...certain circumstances messed that up. I moved to Scotland. And here I am.

Finally. I was supposed to be in Ravenclaw. Yeah, you read that correctly. The Sorting Hat vaguely said that Gryffindor would be a good match, but that was that. Nothing else. Hufflepuff wasn’t even an option. Ravenclaw was, at it’s best, the second best option for me. The option that The Sorting Hat wanted me in, anyway. It made it known that it wasn’t very...keen on placing me in Slytherin, even though it knew that I would be a perfect match for it. But The Sorting Hat takes into account your preferences, and that’s why I go down to the dungeons to get some sleep.
