Backstory

Family History to My Birth * = non-cannon character

Somewhere in the Scottish Highlands a small warm hut was filled with screams. This particular hut was usually a quit place, due to the muggle road-way that was being built up the hill. Even most wizards wouldn’t recognize the hut even existed unless they noticed the awkward shaped door that seemed to be punched into the hillside. On this bitter night in December of 1929 multiple protection charms allowed the birth of one Lyall Lupin to commence without even the slightest disturbance to the outside world. Young Lyall was the youngest of three. The eldest sibling, Evard*, had a distaste for Lyall that he took out on the second oldest, Cedrella*. Each sibling feared no one like they feared their older siblings, except for their father, him they feared the most. Morace* Lupin was a surly Scot through and through. There wasn’t a whisky nor a duelist that ol’ Mor’ couldn’t take down. Drinking and fighting was about all he did, so his wife took care of the kids and the house. Once the kids were old enough for Hogwarts they spent most holiday breaks on campus and quickly found summer jobs in Hogsmeade. Evard* graduated Hogwarts a master of potions and took a post in MACUSA. Cedrella* graduated as an accomplished Slytherin seeker and worked in the MOM D. of mysteries. Lyall became a world-renowned expert on Non-Human Spirituous Apparitions and later joined the MOM D. for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Cedrella* never married and never had kids despite living an otherwise full and luxurious life. Lyall married muggle Hope Howell and had one son, Remus. Evard* married Rosetta Sayre* and had one son, Christopher*. Christopher* was a skilled seer well versed in many styles of spell and charm casting. Chris* was a renowned auror for MACUSA which lead to meeting his wife Lynn Graves* and his death in 1996. One month before his son, Morace Henry Evard Lupin*, was born. Lynn* remarried in 2008 to a Muggle named Mike Paxson*.

Personal History

In February of 1996 Morace Henry Evard Lupin, was born to Chris and Lynn Lupin. In January Chris died on a top secret mission with the MACUSA Auror Office. Lynn and her family had a private traditional birth of Morace with a lot of magical aid. Lynn raised Morace herself while working full time for a private contractor to MACUSA. The contracting firm Lynn worked for also serviced the muggle community as a new source of revenue where she met muggle Mike Paxson. Morace was raised along side muggle children, but was made well aware of his magical heritage. Lynn taught Morace many useful spells for day to day life where he discovered his knack for powerful spell casting. In 2008 Lynn married Mr. Paxson a muggle she met while working. Morace enrolled to Ilvermorny where as the Horned Serpent dueling captain he excelled in all his classes except potions. A Beech wood wand with a core of Phoenix feather chose Morace requiring him to spend extra time on simple charms. By his third year the struggle between Morace and Beech wood became a bond between wizard and wand. Morace quickly rose towards the top of his class until he was no longer challenged by the classes offered. For his final years he transferred to Hogwarts in the UK for more advanced classes, where he was sorted into Slytherin. Morace was hired by Hogwarts as a student advisor and adjunct teacher after graduation while he continues to take higher level courses. Morace is working on a dissertation in congress with faculty from the Charms and Transfiguration departments. In addition to being a magical scholar Morace also holds a bachelors degree in business from a muggle university. While at both undergraduate schools Morace captained the house dueling team. Every break from school Morace went back to America with a muggle stepfather so wandless and non-verbal magic were learnt outside of the classroom out of necessity . Muggle family and friends where at the house all of the time and a little subtle magic can be handy to keep at the wave of the fingers. After being accepted into Hogwarts Morace started exploring the wizarding communities in Europe where he learned obscure magic and met a great network of passionate witches and wizards. This network turned out to be more than educated fun loving magical beings, it is a brotherhood spread across the world. The infamous Peveral brothers created three unparalleled powerful objects, a wand, a stone and a cloak. Legend claims the objects where given to the brothers by Death himself suggesting controlling the trio makes one a very powerful wizard. The objects have been targets of jealousy and greed forever. Many wizards search the world for these objects to grant them power and control as they chase their goals. The network of wizards Morace met where dedicated to preventing wizards from gathering the Deathly Hallows. Due to their efforts no wizard has intentionally held all three Hallows. Other than the elder wand the Hallows have been kept in the family descending from the original Peveral brothers, so this network mainly prevented robbery and assassination of the family members. The power of the elder wand was too great to contain so Harry Potter broke it in 1998 at the end of the Second Wizarding War. The pieces of the wand were collected by this mysterious network that Morace has now joined. Morace’s extensive studies into the creation of magical objects and a two year internship at Olivander’s in London, UK made him the perfect man to study the elder wand and theorize repairs or recreations. The power of the Hallows is dangerous and this network only wishes to keep the world safe by locking it away to become lost in legend until no one is sure these objects ever even existed. Morace currently works full time as an advisor to Slytherin students and uses the school resources to study complex magic to better understand the Hallows. Morace lives in Hogsmeade and teaches a few sections of “Apparition 101: Dematerialization” every semester. Every magic object confiscated from students in analyzed by Morace until he understands its creation, even the Maraurder’s Map.
