Backstory

I had always believed in magic, wanted to believe in magic. So you can imagine my absolute surprise and delight when I received a letter- MY letter to go to Hogwarts! I couldn't believe it at first, and it was hard convincing my parents that this was real. That I was really going to some fantasy school to learn magic. They were Muggles, after all. After a while, they finally gave in, and decided to head for a vacation down to London to prove to me that it was probably some scam. Of course, once we stumbled upon Diagon Alley, it was a whole new story. It was absolutely brilliant, wondrous, everything I could have dreamed for! I was so excited to attend in the fall. But most of all, I was very glad that all of this turned out to be true, that the name Vanessa Naomi written in script upon the envelope was talking about me. A real-life witch.
