Backstory

I'm a muggle born from the Scottish highlands so my commute to Hogwarts wouldn't be much of a challenge, however I have several chronic illnesses that prevent me from attending in person so I finally get to begin my education now that distance learning is an option. I'm rather older than a regular new student would be at almost 30, but I have the benefit of a muggle education to stand me in good stead. I'm also already married - to another muggle, though he's not magical - and will probably have children of my own fairly soon. In addition to my husband, I have a younger sister named Salem who is planning to begin her own studies soon and I'm looking forward to studying together, since we've done nearly everything else together!

In addition to my muggle education, I'm in my second year of training to be a Pagan High Priestess after years of searching for the right teacher and a philosophy that best suited my beliefs. I'm hoping the work I've already done in that realm will be of use to me in this endeavor as well, since there's a significant overlap into what one might call "muggle magick" and I also considered myself (and still do) a witch in the Wiccan sense prior to beginning my studies here at Hogwarts.

A few other bits and bobs: my wand's made of vine wood with a unicorn hair core, and her name is Moonstone after my favorite gemstone and the one I work with the most in my other magickal endeavors, plus my patron goddess is Selene who happens to be the Greek goddess of the moon. I adopted a pet unicorn named Quicksilver and I'm thrilled to have my own namesake and beloved phoenix named Sunsea, which is Algonquin for "beautiful sunrise."

I'm looking forward to finally pursuing my (next) magical education and meeting other witches and wizards, especially those of us who had to wait a bit for one reason or another - I'm open to everyone and everything as I begin this wonderful journey, and I can't wait to make some wonderful new friends!
