Backstory

At the Hogwarts Sorting ceremony, the hat placed me in Gryffindor, just like my parents were. When I was one years old, my father, Sirius Black, was wrongfully imprisoned in Azkaban, and later, my mother, Emily Black née Lupin (Remus Lupin's twin sister) was tortured and killed by my father's cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange. My father is a kind, funny, brave man and is a pure-blood, from a long line of pure-bloods who despised the idea of muggles and muggle-borns, and thought it was a crime for one of them to be sorted into Gryffindor. My mother was a half-blood and a werewolf, though everyone loved her. I grew up in a muggle orphanage and when I was eleven, a woman visited the orphanage claiming that I was a witch. Her name was Minerva McGonagall and she said she was a professor at a school for witches, just like me. During the summer before my first year, my father was released and I now live with him during the holidays.
