Backstory

I first became immersed in the Dark Arts in my third year of Hogwarts, when I had an amazing DADA teacher who taught us so many useful things. Even after he eventually retired, I went over to his house to take private lessons. My senses heightened and I could sense dark magic, sometimes even detect exactly what it was. I grew up and became an Auror, however, I could not hold the position long because my mother got very, very sick, and with my younger brother attending Hogwarts and my father...gone, my only option was to return home.
I resigned from my job to tend to my mother. As she got better, we hired a witch named Patty Sprout to take care of her, and I took up a job offer at Hogwarts. However, the war was still going on, so I played a big role in it by working undercover for Aberforth and the children. When the war ended, I became a Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, since many were still reluctant to take the job. Luckily, it was not cursed and I am still the DADA professor.
