Backstory

Jackie's mother kept her out of harms way. She lived a life, blinded by her mother in hopes to hide what she truly was and feared what one day she might become. Jackie's father was a pure-blood, but passed away long before Jackie could recall her first memories and thus hiding the one side that her mother feared the most. Jackie grew up loved by her mother who slowly began to see what her very daughter was turning into something she was trying to keep her away from, to protect her. A wizard. The letter came in the mail one morning. Jackie was still asleep while her mother held the letter, knowing the day had finally come to tell her everything. Bouncing down the stairs, she came. Her mother sat her down, sliding the letter over.

She began to tell everything. Who her father really was, not some accountant who passed away due to a car accident but a man who attended the very school she was accepted to. The mother's voice was soft. How they met, how he really died. Protecting her when Jackie was just a mere child. Jackie was angry, confused, betrayed. How long has she been keeping this a secret? Her whole life was a lie to start with and everything just spun in her head.

But a sense of wonder overcame her too, a sense that this is maybe what she wanted to do. The letter called to her, and she knew she needed to leave. Jackie's mother begged her to stay, to stay home, but Jackie left. She knew she needed to leave, to know more of what her father's world was, long ago.
