Backstory

Growing up in a pureblood family hasn't always been the easiest thing. Sure, I've always been surrounded by magic and have loved every minute of that. But, there are certain expectations that come with coming from a pure line of magic and a family of nothing but Slytherins. For a while, I actually doubted whether or not I wanted to continue on the path that they had set out for me from birth: go to Hogwarts and get into Slytherin (as if anything else would have been acceptable), complete my education and spend my free time on the Quidditch team, and get a job at the Ministry after leaving school. It all seemed so set in stone with no room for me to discover my own passions.

So, I did what any sensible kid does. I ran...and ran far. I walked away from the life my parents had set out for me and went to find my own calling. I've lived all over the world now, moving from place to place in an attempt to find where I really fit. I've lived in other wizarding communities (it's not as easy as it sounds when you don't go to school to learn magic) and I've lived among Muggles. I've learned a lot about myself and what I want out of life and, ultimately, I think I'm better for it.

As it often goes, life has a sense of humor and I've ended up back in the UK studying at Hogwarts. My parents couldn't be more thrilled and are even excusing my "mini rebellion", as they call it. But, as much as I love school and finally learning the ins and outs of this world that I was born into, I'm still not sure what my path for the future is. Maybe I'll follow through with the family plan and get a prominent job at the Ministry like the last 5 generations of Madisons. Or, maybe I'll break the chain and find my calling elsewhere. I guess that's what I'm here to find out and I'm open to whatever may come.
