Backstory

My name is betty. I am a pureblood first year. When I recieved my hogwarts letter, I was sitting on the chair in my room, when out of nowhere, a letter popped out of the window,even though I had sworn I shut it tight earlier. I looked at it, shocked and scared, and than I stood up and walked towards it. I kept whispering, "don't be evil, don't be evil." I bent down to pick it up. As I opened it and read it, at first I thought it was a joke. "Very funny!" I yelled, looking to see if it was my brother. As I was looking, he came into my room and said, "who are you talking to?" He asked, sounding very agitated. I widened my eyes. "Is this one of your friends?" I asked, holding up the letter. "What is that?" He looked back and forth from me to the letter, smiled, and ran at me to grab it. "Get away!" I screamed, tripping on my book and falling backwards. My mom came running in. "David, stop! What are you doing?! Leave betty alone!" She grabbed his shoulder and pulled him off of me. "What's going on?" She asked very sternly. "Betty has a letter." He said while smirking. My mom looked at me and saw the letter in my hand. "What is that?" She asked. "It's a letter." I said, not wanting to show it to her. "Can I see it?" She asked, reaching for the letter in my hand but not trying to grab it. I looked at the letter as if I would never see it again, most likely because I wouldn't. I handed it to her. As she read it, she started to smile. After she had finished, she looked at me with a wide grin on her face. "I can't believe it's finally here. I need to show this to your father." She said, still smiling. After my father had read it, they were both beaming. "Why are you smiling?! You shouldn't be happy about this!" David said, stomping away. My father said, "Judy, I can't believe this day has come." He smiled at my mother. I was slightly relieved that they weren't mad, but I didn't understand why they were so happy. I asked them about it and they told me what it was. "Honey, you're a wizard." My mom said to me. I didn't really believe them until later on when they showed me magic. I couldn't believe it. I was super happy but scared, because I had no idea what to expect when I got there.
