Backstory

To say it was a surprise receiving my letter for Hogwarts would be the understatement of the century. Why? Well, firstly because I come from a long line of muggles, to whom the wizarding world only existed in wild fantasies. Secondly, well, because I come from South Africa, which is thousands of miles away from the school.
I don't know who was more excited, me or my mother or grandparents. My grandparents are like my real parents, my mother more of a glorified sister. I've never met my father, and that fact still hasn't bothered me right to this day. There's always been wildly exaggerated stories about his absence, and while I may not believe any of them, it's fun to pretend.
The next big shock came my first day at Hogwarts. I'd done a bit of research about the school and its respective houses, so I wasn't completely left in the dark, and when I was sorted into Gryffindor, my eyeballs nearly fell out of their sockets!
I've loved every minute I've spent here. I love my schoolwork (though I'll probably jinx you if you dare to call me a nerd), and I do spend a lot of time volunteering. I love Defense Against The Dark Arts, Potions, and Charms, and I'm well on my way to becoming one of the best Aurors the Ministry has ever seen. if I do say so myself.
