Backstory

(Younger Student) When I received my Hogwarts Letter, I was under the impression it was just one big prank. I was always different from the kids at school, and they were often finding new and different ways to tease me or ostracize me even further from the group. All of this was fine with me, I had this feeling that I was destined for greater things than them. Popular, no? More intelligent? Maybe. More talented? Absolutely. Not talented in the way of creativity, or painting, but sometimes when I focused especially hard on something I could change my own hair or eye color. Although it didn't bother me, it devastated my mother. All she wanted was for me to be normal and popular. "A regular kid". But I wasn't.
Anyway, like I said, I received my letter. I opened it and threw it away thinking it was another joke.
