Backstory

The connection formed between a wizard and a wand has not always fascinated me, but towards my final years at Hogwarts I began to notice a change in my spellwork. I'm not sure how it happened, but it was as if someone had flipped a switch in my wand. Over the course of a few months in my sixth year, my magic grew phenomenally stronger. Some of it was extra practice, but I began to feel differently towards my wand as well in that time. It became less a tool, and more a helper. Since then, I've had a growing interest and devotion to wandlore. By the time I got out of school, I knew exactly what I wanted my career path to be. You see, wandless magic is extremely difficult, and therefore we wizards rely very heavily on them, but the amount of focus and connection a wand and a wizard have will ultimately affect the ability they have to produce magic. With the right pairing, the wand and the wizard can excel together, but without the right wand, a wizard will seem blundering and incapable. Part of my job is ensuring that never happens, and under my watch, it never has. I'm nowhere near completing my apprenticeship, but wandmakers traditionally have long lives ahead of them, so I've got plenty of time.
