Backstory
With two muggle parents I was shocked to receive my Hogwarts letter. My mother told me that I had a distant cousin who suffered the same fate, but other than that I had a mostly normal life up until this point. With one parent working as a music teacher, and the other playing for a regional orchestra my life was nothing less than musical. However, despite my parents before me, I focused more on knowledge and fact rather than art. I fell in love with math, astronomy, and history. Unfortunately, some of my parents genetics poked through and I found guilty pleasure in creative writing and astrology.I was especially excited to take Wizard Math™, but instead was ecstatic to take History of Magic and Astronomy instead. My parents quickly bought my supplies, not talking to anyone else in Diagon Alley, and a stray, black kitten from a muggle store. I got my wand, ebony wood with a unicorn hair core, 10 ¾" and slightly springy flexibility, and headed off to Hogwarts.
Of course being from a muggle family, I didn’t have any friends. But instead made peace with a third year Slytherin who happened to be occupying the only not-full carriage on the train. I first encountered the word “mudblood” right then and there with no idea the meaning behind it. While passing the tables of Gryffindors and Ravenclaws and Slytherins in the great hall, I barely noticed the students dressed in yellow. Of course it was my luck to join them, but I quickly found a home.
