Backstory

The history of language has always intrigued me from a young age. My parents were hippies, both had magic. Dad was an ex-Curse Breaker and always preferred camp life to a “normie” domestic life. Mom had been a name seer, like her mother, but their business had slowly fizzled out after the whole “chosen one” prophesy. We lived at campgrounds around the United States. As a child, I spent a lot of my time adventuring in landscapes that held relics and messages from indigenous people in the area. I read all of my parents books on native languages, runes and heiroglyphics.

At Ilvermorny I was sorted into Horned Serpent House. I excelled in Astronomy, History of Magic, Muggle Studies, Transfiguration, Divination, Ghoul Studies, Magical Theory, Muggle Art, Ancient Studies, Study of Ancient Runes and Xylomancy. All of which led to my career as a Spell Researcher and Inventor. I specialize in translating newly discovered ancient incantations.

Understanding the history of linguistics, connections between the ancient incantation and modern incantation, that wonderful feeling when a spell is reborn. It took a few years of sneaking my way into Congress of Magic offices to be formally recognized for my work, but once I did, I was able to buy myself a little cottage in the mountains. Though I’m so busy, I’m hardly there. Currently, I’m studying new discoveries at Stonehenge. Glyphs of some forgotten Celtic language, spelling out protective spells and illusions. The Obliviators are quite jealous and keep trying to bribe me for details.
