Backstory

When I first received my Hogwarts letter, I was a bit surprised. I thought it was some kind of plank by my little brother. I didn't think Hogwarts accept students from the states or other countries let alone me.  He sometimes plays pranks on me or gets me in trouble for anything weird-related or unexplainable. I just assumed anything unexplainable was unfortunate luck or the universe playing some kind of cruel joke. I wouldn't be surprised seeing how most of my life has been some type of punishment one way or the other. Anyway, my family decided to humor me by agreeing to go on vacation to London. London is beautiful, even if the letter turned out to be a joke, the trip was well worth it. We went shopping and were all surprised by the pub sign-changing its name from the "Barren Bulldog" to “The Leaky Cauldron”. I thought it was a hologram or something computer-related. It turns out, it wasn't a hologram or anything computer-generated. The friendly innkeeper escorted us into Diagon Alley. Diagon Alley has to be the coolest shopping district I have ever seen. It was huge. I couldn't believe such a place exist. There were so many people there. My family was still in awe. We did manage to speak to someone from the school. A professor, I think. My parents weren't sure if I should attend a school so far away from home, but the professor reinsured them that the education is top-notch and my safety and well-being were a priority. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to study abroad and I begged them to let me stay. They finally agreed as long as I promised to call, write, or video chat and visit every school vacation. I agreed. I could tell that my little brother was going to miss me but I assure him that I will visit every chance I get. And who knows?! Maybe he will be attending the same school in the future. I'm looking forward to starting school soon. I can't wait to see what Hogwarts has to offer.
