Backstory

I help shape the world through music and other people. I find what inspires them and help strengthen it to motivate them into action. My talent is helping other people grow, and because of this, the Sorting Hat announced me a Hufflepuff. Throughout my years at Hogwarts, I studied music in both Muggle and Wizarding Worlds, and sought ways to combine them. In my sixth year, I began inventing, and planning to open a music shop on Diagon Alley, where I could inspire and teach student musicians not only instrument lessons, but summer courses on music and mathematics, philosophy, history, social justice, anything! After I graduated, I took various jobs at a few shops to learn the dynamics of business and save enough money for my own. At last, after five years, I opened Kay's Music Magicks.

Today, Kay's Music Magicks is a thriving store with patrons from new students to adult wizards wanting to play their first instrument. Not only do I sell a range of Muggle and Wizarding instruments, I also have a special section of instruments invented by some of my own students! When you buy one of these instruments, a quarter of the proceeds goes to the instrument's inventor. I offer lessons and repairs, as well as summer courses that teach the effects of music across various disciplines.

Along with managing my shop, I am also collaborating with several top heads of Hogwarts to expand their arts programs which has been proven (both in the Muggle and Wizarding Worlds) to improve school performance, creativity, and focus. Within the next few years, we plan to add more courses related to music (including those that I teach) and create various clubs to provide individuals with a strong community that encourages their art.

In the meantime, my passion is teaching others the joy of music and strengthening their love of it until they are ready to share it with the world. Through music, we learn to feel. Through feeling, we learn to care. And through caring, we help the world by helping each other, one note at a time.
