Backstory

Hello, I am Freya Pond! I come from an all-magical family and I am the only child of two former Gryffindors. My mum and dad have been rooting for me to get sorted into Gryffindor, and here I am! I am in my first year at Hogwarts, and can't wait to learn more. My parents allowed me to bring my pet hedgehog Pixie. Although they're all very fond of her, they thought she'd be happiest with me.

I came to Hogwarts knowing no one but Pixie and, being quite shy, this meant that I spent the first few weeks mainly talking to the school ghosts (who are all very friendly, although a bit grim at times). Currently, I am slowly starting to mingle with people. Lunch and dinner certainly have become more enjoyable, as I am no longer making my spectral friends jealous with all the lovely food the house elves make us.

I enjoy going for strolls on the castle grounds, trying to spot the various magical creatures running about. I love animals, both magical and mundane, and cannot wait to try Care of Magical Creatures in my third year. People told me it can be very boring, especially when taking care of Flobberworms and all, but I'm sure I will love it! Because of my love of animals I am also highly interested in animagi and transfiguration, partially because of my love for magical creatures. It's a shame we have to wait until N.E.W.T. levels until we can do some human transfiguration...
