Backstory

I come from an alternate reality where magic is almost extinct. I am one of the three remaining sorcerers from my world and, unfortunately, am in a petty, personal war with Declan (another sorcerer). For years Declan has wished to see me dead, and has tried coming up with numerous ways to be rid of me. He began researching into the darkest of magic, and found a spell that would eventually put me here.
For now, I'm stuck. This world's magic is different, and younger. It has more constraints than the magic of my own world, and does not bend to to the will of the incantations I've known for almost a millennia. Old Magic does, however, exist in this world, but is terribly difficult to master, even for me. It would take years that I don't have to be able to cast that magic. As a spell researcher, I hope to create a new spell in order to return home. Hopefully, I'll succeed.
