Marguerite Solanace is a first-year Ravenclaw student. She was raised in the Muggle world by a single mother with no knowledge of the magical world; it was a shock when, on her eleventh birthday, a kindly old wizard came to her to reveal the truth of her powers.

When she came to Hogwarts, she was awed by the scale of it in both size and history. She longed to learn all she could about it, to store it up in her mind and have it. She has from early childhood had both a noted intellectual talent and a noted ambition, neither of which was missed by the Sorting Hat. It mulled over her mind for some time before at last sorting her into Ravenclaw; however, it told her before she went, that she would have done well in either House, and that its final decision was based on the intellectual aspect of her ambitions. She longs to understand, for knowledge is possession. 

She is both kind and fierce, and competitive. She is happy to be your friend, but she will not hold back or hide from trying to be the best, and telling you exact truths.

Her Muggle interests included science, medicine, fantasy, reading -- voracious reading -- and she is (as of 1st year) particularly interested in how Muggle science and magic might be reconciled. She dreamed of becoming a scientist or doctor in the Muggle world, and is now eager to discover what opportunities will captivate her in the wizarding world.
