Backstory

Long version:

I was sorted into Slytherin, though it wasn’t an immediate decision. The Hat spent a long time debating between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, calling me sharp, inquisitive, and deeply driven. In the end, it chose Slytherin for my ambition, resourcefulness, and refusal to be limited by others' expectations. I wanted to make a name for myself, and the Hat saw that clearly (It just took 7 minutes to decide).

I love Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, and Ancient Runes. Anything that involves complex spellwork or hidden meanings pulls me in. There's something thrilling about understanding the deeper structure of magic, especially when most others overlook it. On a different note, I can't stand Divination. I hate the vagueness of it. I prefer precision and proof to gut feelings and tea leaves. Herbology—I am surprisingly good at it, but dirt under my nails and wrangling Devil’s Snare never quite suited me.

I’m a half-blood. My father is pureblood, from the old Lightwood line, and my mother is Muggle-born—a brilliant potioneer. That makes it somewhat complicated with my family. Some of my father’s side never fully accepted me because of my mother. I learned early on to hide my feelings and play the politics of pureblood society. It made me sharper, more strategic—but also more guarded.

I was very young during the Second War, just a toddler really, but I’ve grown up in its shadow. My family still carries scars—some figurative, some not. My mother fought with the Order briefly, while my father's family stayed neutral, which created tension that never fully healed.

I think my greatest strength is my clarity of purpose. I know what I want, and I don’t waver. I don’t mind doing things others shy away from—as long as I believe they’re necessary. On the other hand, I don’t trust easily. I keep people at a distance, even those who care. It protects me, but it also isolates me.

I'll probably work at the Ministry, training in magical research—but it won't feel right. It’s what’s expected of someone like me.
My real dream? It’s a bit of a secret. I want to study the ocean—become a marine biologist in the Muggle world. No wands, no spells—just the sea, science, and discovery. But I haven’t figured out how to tell anyone that yet.

On a different note, I have one black cat named Artemis, after the Greek goddess of the hunt and the moon. She’s quiet, fiercely independent, and always seems to know more than she lets on. She watches from the shadows and only shows affection when she wants to. Honestly, she might be the only creature I trust completely. And she hates my older brother’s golden retriever named Apollo like he’s a plague.

But Artemis isn’t the only secret I keep. When I was nine, I found a creature—strange, silver, coiled in a forgotten glasshouse on the edge of my family's estate. An Occamy, barely hatched, eyes like galaxies and feathers that shimmered like stardust. I named her Eris, after the Greek goddess of chaos, because keeping her hidden from both the magical world and my family changed everything. She grew with me—shifting her size to suit the spaces I could offer her, just as I learned to adapt myself to survive. She's clever, temperamental, and far too smart for a pet. More like a mirror to my own wildness.

On the topic of oddities or disagreements—my family has plenty. My father’s side still clings to old traditions, while my mother is a progressive, Muggle-loving rebel in their eyes. Family dinners are… tense. There are also whispers that one of my ancestors dabbled in experimental spellcraft that bordered on the forbidden. But they like to hide it all.

I would love to hear from you all. If you hadn't noticed I love Greek mythology, infact I'm writing a story on Artemis for my creative writing course in university. 100% recomend taking one when you go... or don't. Anyway let me know if you want to hear it. (BTW I'm in university for marine biology... nothing to do with writing... I just took the course to see what it's like.. I love it.)

Before anyone attacks me.... the Harry Potter Era is not my favorite. I really like the cursed child and the Marauders. But Harry Potter I didn't really like. I'll listen to what you want to say but I still stand with what I say....

Anywho Artemis and Apollo are real. I love them a lot. And no I don't pick favorites but Artemis is my cat so...  (she's my profile picture)

I would love to talk books and hear your story's.
