Backstory
Slimy, pesky, and generally troublesome, Vesper is the stereotypical Slytherin that every Hufflepuff has nightmares about becoming.
If you're a figure of authority in any respect, rest assured that Vesper will find their way to your side, likely trying to schmooze their way into power. If you don't strike them as a superior, you may still stand a chance of befriending them... but why would you want to? They'll tamper with your belongings the second they get the opportunity to.
Speaking of tampering, Vesper has a remarkable affinity for transfiguration. Their skills aren't yet up to the par set by their passion, but they're convinced that by the time their Hogwarts days are over, they'll be able to turn just about anything into just about anything else. Rumor has it they tranfigurated their way into a completely free top surgery, though they'll never admit that it was mostly a lucky accident.
Vesper's principal goals are total mastery of transfiguration-- including becoming an Animagus-- and securing a career in technical theatre magic. What does that entail? Don't bother asking them. You'll be stuck listening to them ramble about the benefits of a magically-managed props department for three hours.
Though they may be a flatterer and a sneak, Vesper van Truffle is a patient student with compelling magical potential. They'll spend hours perfecting the precision of their wand flicks, and hours more spreading gossip about every Gryffindor with whom they don't share any classes. Professors often enjoy their company, though that can be owed largely to the amusement in watching a precocious child attempt to inflate their egos. They sleep into the late afternoon whenever they can, but in their dreams, they live in a fluid, shifting world of constant change... one they will wake up to someday, no matter how diligently they must study to make it happen.
