Mikayla Clinger

Backstory

I, Mikayla, named for the trees sacred to the goddess Aphrodite, was born on the 2nd of June in Boston, MA. I did not get to know her parents long as they were murdered by a rival company, jealous of their success, during a Hallow’s Eve celebration a year after I was born. The company masked their deaths as a magical accident, but the American wixen boycotted and put them out of business. Cyril and Estelle’s parents, my grandparents, also pressed charges and won a significant amount of gold. I was taken in by my paternal grandparents who moved us from the Bonneville’s main familial home in Massachusetts to New York. At the age of four, they hired a tutor named Nadia Kato, a halfblood from Romania. When my grandparents died of dragonpox four years later, Nadia took me in and we left America to travel the world, spending a few months each in select places, until eventually settling in London January of the year I got my letters.

I received letters from many of the schools whose territories I’d lived in over the past two and a half years such as Ilvermory of course, Castelobruxo in Brazil, Durmstrang in Norway which is the school Nadia attended, Beauxbatons in France, and Hogwards in Scotland. As tempted as I was to attend Durmstrang, I had learned of my extensive family history from my grandparents before they passed, from my tutor, and the records my family kept, and was determined to not carry on the power seeking and darkness that had followed them throughout history. I was admittedly also curious about the nation that seemed to have more Dark Lord problems than any other. So, ultimately I decided to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
