Backstory

Growing up with a Squib mother, and a Halfblood father meant that I grew up with one foot in each world. My mother came from a family of Purebloods, who actually weren't all that concerned with her 'ruining' their status amongst the other magical folks, and we visited them often, just as much as my muggle grandparents. My father works in the Ministry of Magic, in the Department of Muggle Affairs, and one day I want to join him, but to help Squibs like my mum, who weren't so lucky. I knew that my entire family would always love me, no matter what I turned out to be, but when I got my letter to Hogwarts, we all cried together.

But... Now I'm kind of nervous. I haven't been away from home for this long before, not even in summer camp, and I hope I can make friends...
