Backstory

Cassie is a muggle-born Hufflepuff. Her father was an author who died in a plane crash when she was still young. Her stepmother, Kathy, is a successful muggle magician and often takes Cassie with her on tours and teaches her muggle magic. Cassie is soft-spoken and rarely reaches out. She has trouble understanding social cues. She doesn't discriminate between houses when she does make friends, her two closest friends being in Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Unfortunately, due to reasons unknown, her magic has stunted growth, so she is a year behind all others of her age, and a year older than her peers without the advantage of age.
