Backstory

Name: Serraphyn Delacroix

House: Ravenclaw Student

Wand: Dogwood, Unicorn Core, 12 and 1/4 inches, surprisingly swishy flexible.

Patronus: Tonkinese Cat

I am a half-blood witch.  My mother is a muggle elementary teacher and my father is a wizard who works on behalf of many wand makers, scouring the countrysides for the the woods needed to craft wands.  He was gone quite often, thus my mother was raising me alone a lot of the time.  I'm sure I was a handful as a child.  I grew up going to a muggle pre-school and kindergarden.  I was already showing signs of magical prowess and had to stop attending school in the second grade when I was unable to control it, due to my ability to be a bit emotional about certain things. 

I am starting my first year at Hogwarts and am very excited to be in hufflepuff.  I've already met a lot of really nice people and hope to make more friends as the years progress.  You'll find I'm a bit shy at first and tend to draw back on things I'm unsure of, but give me a bit and I'm very friendly, loyal to a fault, trustworthy and always there with a smile. 

I'm extremely imaginative and I use that to write quite often, but I also enjoy reading, as I'm eager to learn new things.  I enjoy music, theater, games, horseback riding, and swimming.  I'm a big foodie and can't wait to see what the feasts are like here at Hogwarts, especially during some of the holidays.  Might have to stick around instead of head home a year or two just to find out. 

I'm really looking forward to all my classes, but herbology and potions in particular.  At least in these two subjects, I feel a bit more confident in my ability than the others, not that I'm not magically inclined, but as my mother couldn't teach me much magic in my father's absence, she taught me how to garden a bit and cooking is kinda like potions, no?  Following a recipe, right?  Anyway, I look forward to meeting new friends and learning everything there is to learn.
