Backstory

My name is Alyssa M., and I am a proud Ravenclaw. Well, I was almost a Gryffindor, but after four and a quarter minutes of nail-biting suspense, I was delcared a Ravenclaw! I love to read, write, sing, and act. So far, I really enjoy Charms and History of Magic, although I do also like Flying and Potions. I don't think Astronomy is my thing, though. I do well in Transfiguration, although it's not my favorite class. I am a Muggle-born. I think I want to stay in Hogwarts after graduating, and become a professor. Possibly a Charms professor? I definitely want to use my magic to help other people learn magic. I think that the most facsinating aspect of magic is that it can help as well as harm. It can damage someone more than any sword can, but it can also heal things that would have taken months in the Muggle world in an instant. Back at home in the United States, my family owns a dog named Zeke. He is small, but super annoying! I have been tempted to cast Silencio on him multiple times, even if I know I can't. At Hogwarts, I have a small purple pygmy puff named Piper. She will eat ANYTHING! My sister is also a first year, and a Gryffindor.
