Backstory

Hi! I'm Cordelia, or just Delia for short. I'm a first year Ravenclaw here at Hogwarts. I knew the hat would place me in Ravenclaw as I've always been the quiet, intuitive type and I love to learn. I would soon come to find that I'm also a huge nerd for Herbology... Of course I know all Ravenclaws aren't nerds - there's definitely a great variety of people in my house - but I'm definitly one of those who make up the stereotype. All the hat needed was a few moments consideration for my firm placement in Ravenclaw: my home away from home.

I'm still just a first-year, so I haven't had much time to decide on my favourite class yet. Although I do know I'm less of a fan of the more 'showy' magic, like charms and flying, and more of a herbology and divination lover; y'know, the ones where all the magic goes on behind the scenes? I'm quite looking forward to second year though, I've heard that's when lessons really get interesting.

I was born to Mira Brooke, a celebrated Seer (well, as celebrated as Seers get anyway), and a muggle father, so I guess that makes me a half-blood. My father was adamant that I get a muggle primary school education, so I grew up amongst muggles. I was picked on throughout muggle school for being a 'little wierd', which is one of the reasons I was so excited to start here at Hogwarts; I'll finally get to meet people like me!

My greatest strength, which I most likely inherited from my mother, is my sensitive intuition. I can often pick up on things others can't quite see, and I tend to be good with plants and animals. My weakness would probably be my confidence; I'm not a social person and often find it difficult to articulate my thoughts to others.

I'm not sure what I want to do once I finish school. I think everyone expects me to become a Seer, just like my mother, but I want to wait until I've tried everything before making a decision. I don't want to stray too far from either the mundane or magical world though; they are both part of me and I wouldn't give up one for the other.
