Before Hogwarts

Even before Hogwarts, I was quite shy. I didn't like telling my parents or Barnaby what I was worrying about.  I didn't know why I was so shy since the rest of my family were all confident and bubbly. Anyway, when I was about six, I was on a very, very long walk with my family and I got very thirsty. Then I realised I had forgotten to bring any drink at all. Suddenly, I found a bottle of water in my bag. I was really confused. That's when I was told I was a pure blood witch. After that day, I began to read lots of Wizarding books. I took an interest in magical creatures and begged my parents for a pet Crup. They agreed, and his name is Swift.

Getting My Letter

Five years later, I had gone outside to feed Swift. Crups could live inside but Swift preferred our garden. Then I heard Swift barking at something. Luckily we had removed his extra tail. Assuming it was just the neighbor's cat I called for Swift to stop barking until I saw he had been (sort of) play fighting with a Barn owl. The owl had a letter tied to its leg. I saw a black badger, bronze eagle, gold lion and silver snake. Back then, I had no idea this was the Hogwarts symbol. Since it was a week after my Birthday, my parents had just sadly told me that it would be 'Muggle' school for me. I took the letter without thinking and read it. I picked up the key words Hogwarts, Oshiro, wand and Diagon Alley. I rushed to my parents and we set off shopping right away.

Shopping At Diagon Alley

I wasn't (and still aren't) much of a shopper. But that time, I was very excited. I would be heartbroken at having to leave Swift but I had to do it. I had also met and befriended a handsome Abraxan who I named Apollo but my Dad always told me to look on the bright side. And in this case, the bright side was way stronger. My wand was fir with a unicorn mane stand core. It was thirteen inches long and was apparently 'slightly yielding'. Then, we bought my books, Potions equipment, Astronomy equipment and a uniform. Obviously not house uniforms because we didn't know what house we'd be in yet. We also bought a beautiful Tawny Owl who I named Tawny.

On The Train

The Hogwarts Express was a strange place. I remember Barnaby telling me to run into a wall at 'Platform 9  3/4'. I had just laughed. We got along well but still teased each other. Then he had led me to a wall almost in the middle of Platform 9 and 10. I grinned at it and started saying goodbye to my parents and Barnaby. My Dad gave me the trolley and I took a deep breath before charging into the wall. I remember gasping as I stepped into a new area where a beautiful red train was there. I stepped on and a man called ''Hogwarts Express!" I had sat in a compartment with two girls and a boy. We decided to be friends.

The Sorting

When we entered, our Headmistress, Headmistress Oshiro, showed us into the beautiful great hall. I saw a brown, shabby hat. The Sorting Hat. That moment was the most tense moment of my life. My Mum had been a Hufflepuff like Barnaby and my Dad had been a Gryffindor. I remember dreading to be in Slytherin. I have nothing against Slytherins, but as a pure blood, I was sure people would think I was stuck up. They called my name and I gulped. "Hmmm.. interesting. Hufflepuff heart, definitely. Could be good in Slytherin. Quite knowledgeable about nature. Not Gryffindor." Well, he wasn't wrong. I wasn't brave. "Yes, that's it. Definitely. RAVENCLAW!" That was it. I was a Ravenclaw. I felt proud as I walked towards my new housemates.
