Growing up, I was raised in a small town in London filled with many secrets. I lived hand in hand with muggles so from a young age I was forced to learn how to adapt under certain circumstances. I never was the talkative type as a child which held me back from making friends. Now that I'm older, I don't see that as much of a negative anymore. It stopped me from creating attachments to be people I'd probably never see again. It wasn't bad though, I had mum, dad, my older brother Kaz, and luna the family cat. I say "family" lightly considering I always have been her favorite. I did have one friend. Although he's not exactly what most people would consider your typical friend. I named him X after finding out he was never given a name. I met X around the age of five when I was playing outside in mum's garden. Even at the age of five, I had a feeling my parents wouldn't allow it, so I never mentioned X to them. I'd find him in the weirdest of places and it was always a fun adventure. He stopped showing up when I was around the age of ten. Mum screamed for me to go inside when she found me with him. I never found out what happened and X stopped showing up after that. Mum told me later that night that snakes are dangerous and I should stay clear of them from now on. I didn't understand what she meant by that until I realized it wasn't normal for people to be able to communicate with such "dangerous" creatures. My older brother Kaz always made fun of me for it afterwards too. I was a pretty intelligent child and there wasn't much that he could make fun of me for so whenever given the opportunity, he would take it. I still appreciated my brother though because even though doing magic is forbidden by minors, he always knew ways around it and taught me things. It was never anything crazy, just simple spells like Lumos but It was always our favorite thing to do whenever we got the chance. When my letter finally came in the mail, I was beyond happy. I had heard so many things from my brother that were almost too good to be true and I was excited to experience it all for myself. On the morning I was leaving, mum and dad let me know that I would be taking Luna with me.  I wasn't exactly surprised but it was something that made me even more excited. After saying goodbye to my parents, my brother helped me settle my things on the train before leaving me to find his friends with nothing but a quick good luck. I sat with a girl by the name of Pansy, who I later found out was also a first year. We got along pretty well for just meeting and I told myself not to get too excited about making a friend considering we might be separated by houses in less than a few hours. Although I never did end up being let down because we both somehow made it into Slytherin together. I just got here and I have so many things to learn and explore. I finally feel like I'm somewhere I belong and I cant wait to see all the trouble I get into. All while keeping up with my classes of course!
