Backstory :: Selah was born in Venice, Italy to Naira Stonem and Dylan Coleman. She was the first out of two children but was only truly loved by her younger sister, Masey who was 4 years younger than her. Selah had a tough childhood, being abused and going through traumatic events. She was both physically and sexually abused by her father and mentally abused by her mother. Her father raped her many times, then got drunk and beat her. After 6 years of this, she couldn't take it, so she took her 3-year-old sister and ran away. She didn't know where she was going until she met Teresa Agnes. Teresa was a young woman who had escaped from a Maze. She led the two young girls across a large desert to a place called Safe Haven where Teresa's husband and adoptive daughter were. Teresa introduced the two girls to Brenda, a young woman who Masey was sure was related to Dora in some way. Selah didn't like Brenda and had a closer relationship with a girl named Sonya and her partner, Aris. After learning about her past Sonya and Aris volunteered to adopt the two girls and Selah agreed heartily. After a year of living under the care of Sonya and Aris, there was a bombing and Donuts was killed, leaving Aris in a state unable to care for Selah and Masey. The two girls stayed with their aunt Harriet but had to go under the care of Brenda. Selah softened around Brenda, but still has a grudge against her, because she constantly flirted with Thomas, her best friend's father. After another year, Brenda and Selah were close and there were no hard feelings. Selah and Masey, nine and five both were very smart and beautiful.
