Backstory

Magic. They said it was magic.

The wee bairn of the Rogers of Islington had magic.

The wee lass with wavy brown hair that reached to the middle of her back, green eyes, and acceptable features (gorgeous- her mum would repute; fit for a princess - her pa would add) had magic.

The Rogers - a family who had just moved around a year prior to the busy district of Islington, were the sensible sort. Very smart, level-headed, humble, and kind. But, they were mundane.

Not in a bad way, heavens no! Granted, they were just a tad bit... odd, yes. I mean, no. Uh, let's see, what's a better term.. weird? .. no, no..  eccentricYes, that's a better term! They were an eccentric lot, especially their child - Tammie.

They had a different endeavor every other week - volunteering and workshops, mostly. And that's all well and good but, Tammie - she wanted to learn such odd things. Most girls would love to just play, learn ballet (yuck) or whatever a young girl would want but Tammie?

Woodworking, Rope tying, Assembly, etc. - it could be anything and if she decided that she liked it, she wanted to learn it. Doesn't mean she was a huge tomboy, though. She loved cooking (and eating)and drawing or painting. Courtesy of Mrs. Rogers, really. Though, all the outdoor cooking techniques?

Mr. Rogers was to blame for that.

Mr. Rogers and his Cub Scouts.

Though, Tammie was actually a part of the Girl Guides but, that didn't matter to Mr. Rogers. No sirree.

Sigh.

Really.

As capable as Tammie was, she was quiet and rather awkward and oh! She couldn't dance or tidy her hair, at all!

If anyone asked her parents, though, they'll tell them that she was too stubborn for her own good, most of the times! They'd truly hope she'd grow out of it in the future. After all, not everyone likes a spitfire, especially one as socially awkward and blunt as Tammie.

But, anyways - The Rogers, as eccentric and fun as they were, they were still mundane. In the magical sense, that is. Well, that's not quite true, as they found out later. They were squibs. Both of them. One a descendant of the Fawleys and the other - some half-blood family. Really, it was hard to tell exactly. The lines were too far apart. Except for Mrs. Rogers, her grandmother was a Fawley.

So, yes. The wee bairn of the Rogers of Islington had magic. Sweet lil' Tatiana Minerva "Tammie" Rogers - eccentric and kind - had magic running through her veins. At least that's what she thought that's what it meant. Huh, where did magic come from? Hm..

ANYWAYS, their baby had magic, which kinda explained so much. Hah, take that Mrs. Rogers. Mr. Rogers' claims of their daughter seemingly controlling a bonfire's strengths would not be chained down once more! Nor Mrs. Rogers' claims of suspicion of Tammie always getting the cookies out of the tin - somehow.

So, really, as unbelievable as the claim was - their baby had magic.

The school representative's visit proved it.

She had a new world to explore (which made the young lass' eyes glint with the sparkle of curiosity that her parents were fondly familiar of) alongside her current one. And really, that made her excited.

A new adventure, huh? Perfect.
