Joy Macchiaus

Backstory

     Though the Hat hesitated for a moment, I was ultimatley sorted into Gryffindor. The hat saw that even though I could be more reserved at first meet, and possibly seem to "put up with" a lot when it comes to personal matters, when push comes to shove I always stand up for my friends and what's right. 

     I am most excited for Potions Making and Charms. I love learning the basics of any new skill or topic, and I love to create things. I'm least excited for muggle studies as I my self am a falf-blood that was raised in the muggle world until receiving my Howard's letter. 

     My greatest strength is my curiosity. It pushes me to dive deeper into my studies, friendships, hardships, and has helped me push through many things in life. 

     My greatest weakness would have to be my hesitancy. I get in my own head too much, and often find my self hesitating to talk to someone I'd like to meet, or speak up in class. Even to take opportunities I know would be good for me or even just fun. 

     Once I graduate, I look forward to creating a safe space for muggle and half-blood individuals to find resources or just sit and relax, almost café style. A real community space. Being a half-blood, who didn't know anything about the existence of magic until receiving an acceptance letter, I find magic to be incredibly fascinating, while also being a bit daunting. It's literally learning about a whole new world of possibilities and things you would have called a fairytale one day are just an everyday reality. I want to help fellow muggle-raised individuals feel like they have a space of understanding while they navigate through the Wizarding world. 

     The Wizard parent is unfortunately out of the picture. They had planned to explain everything to me and my Mother once I got a little older, but fate had other plans. With my mother's encouragement from the muggle world, I am excited to figure out the world Witchcraft and Wizardry, and learn all that I can from it!
