Backstory

I was born into one of those repectable pure-blood families in London— the kind where everyone speaks a little too softly, drinks tea at the same hour everyday, and pretends they1re not judging everyone else in the room. My parents aren't bad, exactly. They are just... proper. Traditional. They like things neat and wuiet, and I've never been either of those things.

My brother Luke is the golden child. Third year, always get top marks, never forgets to write home. He's great—really. He is careful and clever and knows when to keep his mouth shut, which is probably why he's their favorite. But he's also the only person in the word who understands me. He doesn't always get why I act the way I do, but never tries to change me. That means more than he probably realizes.

When I got to Hogwats, everyone assumed I'd be in Ravenclaw or maybe even Slytherin, but the Sorting Hat barely touched my head before yelling Gryffindor. And honestly? It felt right. For the first time I wasn't just Charlotte, the second child, or Miss Delacroix. I was me. And I belonged.

Before I left for school, Luke gave me Ollie— my owl. He said I'd need someone to look out for me as he couldn't be everywhere. Ollie's been with me everyday since. He's more than just smart— he gets me. When I'm spiraling or furious about to do something incredible stupid, he just stares at me in that calm, judgmental way of his, and somehow I feel better. I tell him things I don't tell anyone else.

Most people at Hogwarts call me Charlie— short, sharp, suits me fine. But the nickname Lola? That's different and softer. Only a few people use it, and when they do, it feels like they're speaking to a part of me I don't show often.

My wand is hazel wood with a unicorn hair core. Ollivander said hazel wands tend to reflect their owner's emotional state, which... honestly, yeah. When I tried casting a Patronus for the first time, it came out as a Manx cat. I had to look it up later, but it kind of made sense, a bit strange in the best way. Just like me, I guess.

As for the classes, I've already fallen in love with Astronomy and Charms. There's something magical about looking up at the starts and realizing how small we are— and something even better about learning how to change the world with a flick of your hand. I'm also into Defense Against the Dark Arts. Not because I like fighting, but because if something dark comes near the people I care about, I want to be the one who stands in its way.

It's only the beginning, but I can feel it—this year is going to change everything. I don't know exactly how yet, but I'm ready. For the magic, the chaos, the friendships... all of it. Here's to my first year at Hogwarts. Let's make it unforgettable.
