Backstory

I didn't know what to expect when I came to this school - while both of my parents are magical, they are also immigrants and never went to Hogwarts. My experience here will decide the faith of my two younger sisters, really. If I don't like it, they will probably be sent to live with our grandma, back in Poland. I am quite excited, though. The castle is like nothing I have ever seen before, and the ghosts as well! We don't use wands in Slavic magic, and mama says that learning it in Hogwarts will make my life easier in the wizarding west, with getting a job and all. I can't wait to learn my first charms and show off at home. Oh, the Sorting Hat put me in Slytherin. At first, I didn't feel quite comfortable; everyone looked very British and posh (it is easy to be ambitious, when you don't have to actually work for your future, no?), but that was just the first impression. I found my circle quick enough.
