Backstory

Ilvermorey Thunderbird, Class of 1900. I spent 50 years as an apprentice wand crafter under Gervaise Olivander at Olivander’s Wand shop in London, working side by side with Garrick Olivander as we both strove to master our trade. I spent another twenty years working under my grandfather, Gwilliam Savage, at Odin’s Eye Wood Carvers - Wands, Staves and Oddities, in Agricola, Virginia. I inherited the business upon his passing.
While working in Great Britain, I was afforded the opportunity to work in the Herbology Department at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry under Professor Armando Dippet over the academic years of ‘’31-’32, ‘32-’33 and again just prior to my return to America ‘49-’50. I was sorted into Slytherin as faculty and assisted Horance Slughorn in his duties as Head of Slytherin House for that final academic year.
As a wood carver it is essential I be well versed in Herbology, Charms, Potions and Transfiguration. I’ve traveled extensively and had the opportunity to observe Old World, New World and Oriental Magic and their various idiosyncrasies. I have developed a vast working knowledge of wand woods, wand cores and wandlore after studying with American and Australian abiriginal shamans and Druid keepers of knowledge along with the aforementioned master wand crafters. Some have said I am just a pedlar of sticks but what I really deal in is smiles. For, when wand and master become one force there are few greater joys for a wizard.
