— one of my massive pet peeves is when someone incorrectly portrays a mental illness. you've heard of 'split personality disorder', right? first off, psychologists haven't used that name for years. it's called dissociative identity disorder. it occurs when a person has severe childhood trauma, and their alters front to protect them from a perceived trigger (at least, that's what i've learnt, i could be wrong). it does NOT make a cool ~split evil personality~ and you definitely should DO YOUR RESEARCH on a disorder before trying to use it for a character. i actually have adhd and depression, and i've been researching dyslexia so i can correctly portray it.

starter one — muggle.
a vast majority of stonefield high gave perseus a wide berth whenever he appeared in the hallway. he was the son of two business execs, rich people who he could barely stand, and a descendant of a murderer who people still remembered. percy was almost annoyed when people avoided him, but he decided it was a good idea. if people ignored him, then he wasn’t important to anyone. and that’s just how he liked it.
the school bell had rung, warning the students that there were only ten minutes left until school started on that misty monday morning. perseus could be found under an ancient oak tree near the main door of the school, his guitar slung over his back and a suspicious water bottle in his hand. he looked exhausted, but also ready for a fight in case those assholes who kept bugging him appeared.
starter two — muggle.
perseus was on the run from the police. it was an accident, really; at least, an accident that he was caught. it was obvious what he'd been doing by the looks of the paint dying his hands a soft lilac. not the manliest, he thought, but when was he ever manly?
he over a fence into an expensive-looking backyard. he whistled for a moment, before remembering where he was, and pressing himself against an oak tree. "shit," he mumbled, searching for a way to escape. surely these rich assholes would have security cameras.
starter three — muggle.
eighteen-year-old perseus was the newest employee of stonefield's dog rescue. he was bright-eyed and enthusiastic about his job, and he could usually be found surrounded by canines. he kept his two, patroclus and achilles, in the back, with the rest of the worker's dogs, however he visited them during the day.
it was a normal day when he wanted to visit the beauceron and the mix. achilles and patroclus were two of the loveliest dogs a guy could own, although they were full of energy and needed a lot of care. he stepped through the employees only door, taking a sharp breath when he saw a figure. "hello?" he called. "you're not supposed to be back here."
