Backstory

*Forgive me for the haphazard state of my backstory/bio. It's a bit of a work in progress at the moment*
Slytherin, for my ambition and ever-present resourcefulness. A bit of a hatstall, but only due to my passion for knowledge and ability to absorb books. I haven't decided which classes I favor, nor which ones I detest - I enjoy learning and so it's difficult to get in the 'detest' category. A half-blood - my father is a stubborn muggle, and my mother a kind witch. I'm almost glad of my blood status - relieved perhaps - as I don't think my father would do well if he had the gift. He'd likely abuse it and either wind up in Azakaban or perhaps worse. My greatest strength is my mind. It's truly an amazing thing, despite it's tendencies toward anxiety and conditions of the like. I will concede that my greatest weakness has to be my stubbornness. It has led me into a few sticky situations.
I have yet to decide, what I want to do after schooling. If possible, I'd like to go through more schooling. Perhaps write books sitting by a fire. That is the dream anyways - well, that and being independently wealthy so that I'll never again have to worry about money situations.
I'm fascinated by magic as a whole, but I really find the areas of divination and transfiguration to be interest peaking. I enjoy herbology, and potions, and essentially everything else however. Again, I'm a bit of an academic - a nerd if you will.
I'd like to use magic to help others as well as myself. If I could, I'd likely use magic more to benefit myself (brewing potions to banish anxiety or panic, and so on) but I wouldn't use magic to achieve my own ends by harming others. Unless, by chance, they are an evil witch or wizard and have harmed someone within my circle of friends. Then, and only then are all the bets off.
Honestly, at the end of the day, all I want is to be successful. I want to be able to write so others may read, and not be locked in to the path my family is heading towards.
