Backstory

Hi! I'm Violet Sol Hernandez de Garza Alves, but you can call me Vio!

I was born in Spain, when my parents where on a vacation, celebrating my mom's birthday. I was born on October 22nd, 2005. When I was 5 years old, my parents had my younger sister- Camila. I simply adored her, I watched for my sister at all times. 2 years later, Arturo was born. I loved him as much as I loved Camila. I grew up with 2 loving parents and 3 loving grandparents.

I didn't know about Hogwarts till the letter was sent, as I was almost sent to Castelobruxo. When I received my letter, I was ecstatic (to say the least). I was glad that I didn't have to go all the way to South America, for my schooling! My parents were also happy, and were excited to accompany me to Magical England.I am a halfblood, so my family already knew about magic.

Once I arrived at Hogwarts, I was sorted into Hufflepuff. I was practically shaking as I stepped up to the Hat. I remember our dialogue went something like this. "Hello there," the Hat seemed to whisper in my ear."'Hi" i thought back. "Well, Violet Sol, let me say, you seem very smart. Not at all cunning. So not Slytherin." "Is that good?" I suddenly wished I had read up on the houses. "Its fine, but..." the hat seems to think, or be searching, "I see you don't value brave all too much, so not Gryffindor. What's more important, good grades or having loving friends?" he asked, and (even though I know I'm very studious) I immediately answered, "having loving friends." "I know, you'll be perfect in "HUFFLEPUFF!" So, I stood, gave the Hat to person holding the list, and walked to the Hufflepuff table.

My favorite classes are Astronomy, Herbology, and Magizoology (which i guess, technically, is Care of Magical Creatures). My least favorite class, has to be History of Magic. I have a few Slytherin friends, so (i don't think) my blood status really affects my life in the Wizarding World. Since my family is not from England, few know about us. So the Slytherin bigots usually leave me alone, and most people respect me. but I like to think its not because of my blood status.

Yes, I am a halfblood. My dad's family is muggle, my grandma (Cecilia de Garza "Abuelita") is a muggle. They were surprised when my father showed magical traits. My father, Arturo Sol de Garza, went to Castelobruxo in his youth. He moved to England in his early 20's, and started working in the Department of International Magical Cooperation. It was in the English Ministry of Magic that he meet my mother. My mother, Natalia Hernandez Alves, had been born in Colombia (like my father) but had moved to Spain when she was a 18. My grandpa, German Hernandez "Gordo", had moved there and had brought his daughter. My maternal grandparents divorced when my mom was around 5. My maternal grandma, Yanet Alves "Granny", moved to England and fought to get my mom with her. My mom finally decided she wanted to go to England, so she moved there and started working in St Mungo's. On a round through the Ministry, had she meet my father. They fell in love and had me, and my younger siblings (Camila and Arturo Sol Hernandez de Garza Alves). Sadly, their love didn't last. They divorced during the summer, before my 2nd year.

My greatest strength is also my greatest weakness. I am very forgiving. I like to think that it is a good thing, but my friends say that I tend to forgive everyone for even the worst of things they may do to me... "you let people take advantage of you", but that doesn't make sense, so whatever.

After Hogwarts, I really want to be a magizoologist, like my hero Newt Scamander. I think the most fascinating aspect of magic is the endless possibilities of uses for even one spell. I do want to use magic to help other and (if I'm being honest with myself) what I most want is *my* happiness.

I have an owl, named Triton. As much as I love Trion, he's very annoying. He is overprotective of me, and only worries about me. Whenever he brings me mail, he won't allow anyone else to touch him. Once, my little sister playfully punched me in his presence, and Triton flew ver and nipped at her hand.

I have a Sycamore wood wand, with a unicorn hair core that is 10" and has surprisingly swishy flexibility.

My Patronus is a Goshawk.

I am "average" height, standing at 5'2". I has a tan, lean body, like that of a swimmer (I have muscles, but there not bulging, ergo not that visible). I has shoulder-length jet black hair as well dark brown eyes that can appear to be black, most of the time. I wear aquamarine polarized Ray Ban glasses and wears aquamarine Opn Play miniRITE, my Oticon (though they are never visible, covered by her hair). Yes, I have horrible vision and I am deaf in one ear.

I am an asexual panromantic.

I enjoy reading and writing in my free time, as well as listening or even making music. All of these activities help calm me, as I have ADHD. I also like playing Wizard's Chess, I think I'm ok at it, and hope to be my teams' Seeker in my 2nd year.
