Ryder Welton

Backstory

Hello. My name is Ryder Welton. I have sorted into Gryffindor my first year at Hogwarts. I was told by the hat that thanks to my determination, my bravery and will to sacrifice myself for my family and friends makes me perfect for the house. I guess I would be classified as a Hatstall, the sorting hat took almost seven minutes to sort me, it kept going back and forth between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor but, I'm glad I was sorted into the house I'm in. I believe my favourite classes would have to Charms and Care of Magical Creatures. However, I am not a fan of my potions class or my history of magic class. I can't ever seem to pay full attention in those classes. My mum, Rebbeca McMillion, was a muggle who met my father, Samuel Welton, a pureblood (But a blood traitor to the Malfoy family), so that makes me a Half-blood! My father actually knew He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named while they went to Hogwarts, according to my godfather, they got along alright. My father was in Slytherin, my godfather, Remus Lupin, was in Gryffindor. I believe my greatest strength would be my determination. It has helped me a lot in my life, having to put up with me is a challenge so, I guess another strength of mine is my stubbornness, but that can also be quite the problem. My greatest weakness... well, that would have to be my stubbornness and my lack of attention span and my poor memory. I think I want to become a professor at Hogwarts, I don't know for what subject but, all I know is that I would love to teach the new wave of witches and wizards what they need to learn and help/aid them with whatever they need and help change what people think of the Slytherin house, I don't think they are all bad, just judged and I think they have the potential to be great and successful, happy people! (Now, I'm starting to see what the hat was struggiling with, I do kinda act like a Hufflepuff.) I find all aspects of magic very interesting. Mostly, the magical creratures, I find them utterly fascinating and very interesting beings (Mainly the Chimera). I really do want to use my magic to help people, educate them and help them learn magic and how there are ways to use magic for good and for evil. If I had to be honest with myself, I really just want to be happy. I have a cat, a short haired calico cat named Smokey, he was a gift from my godfather, who I currently live with now. My father is missing and my mother passed away before my first year at Hogwarts. Smokey is very clingy and tired a lot of the time, he sleeps and sometimes will sleep on my shoulders while I'm doing homework for my classes and, sometimes, Smokey will sleep on my shoulders and end up coming to class with me.
