Backstory

Though spending her whole life in England Opal was a born Australian. Her mother being a magical creatures expert born was raised in england, growing up as a Hogwarts student and after a few years had made her way to Australia to watch over a group of Opaleye dragons that had migrated from New Zealand. There she met up with Opal's father. They fell in love but it was not to be as Opal's father was engaged to a filthy rich heiress that would never let him leave their arrangement for her own reasons. So both of the tragic lovers spent as much time with each other as possible before the wedding, the event took place and even the new information of Opal's mothers pregnancy could not delay it. Her love was married and Opal's mother decided that she would have the baby and then leave. The baby was born, a little girl she named Opal, after the dragons that had brought the childs mother and father together and she set off back to her homeland, back to england. Opal's hands gripping tight to the only thing that her father has given her, a golden necklace with a green gem set in the center, the very thing that the heiress had married Opals father to obtain, a charm that could enable the wearer to communicate with all reptiles.
Opal grew up nicely in england and was sent to Hogwarts just like her mother before her, being a witch and of magic desent as both her parents were born with magic. She always kept the necklace that kept a tie between her and her father at all times and was not surprised when the house she got put in was Slitherin. As she could speak with all reptiles she came across.
