Samantha Deryn

Backstory

Samantha Deryn, a half-blood witch with her nose in either a book or someone else's business, born January 5th, 1980, is what some might call a background character. She's skilled in dueling as well as charms (regardless of her grades may say) thanks to her father and mother (respectively). As a result of childhood trauma, she has pyrophobia, of which she is unaware (though that doesn't play a significant part on her story until later). Sorted into the very same house as her father, the young Slytherin made her first group of friends; her cat, Mr. Mistofflees, by her side when they were not. However, as the years passed and the girl grew, slowly adapting to her surroundings, Sam obliviously began to change (for the worst, most would argue). You see, it wasn't a wholly positive reaction in the Great Hall following the enchanted hat's cry, "SLYTHERIN!" In fact, many booed, much to Sam's befuddlement. Though, as time passed, and Griffindor after Gryffindor shouted, "Slither on back to your grimy dungeon, snake!" Sam became all too accustomed to the role thrust upon her. And so, around her fourth year at Hogwarts, she became the person—no—the devil they had seen her as from the start.
