Backstory
Hello! I am a third-year Gryffindor student, attending school at my home-away-from-home, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Of course, my actual home, outside of Hogwarts, is a wonderful place, and I love my family immeasurably- I have a younger brother (this year is his first year at Hogwarts, and I'll always be sure to look out for him; I also expect that he'll be sorted into Hufflepuff!), and he drives me absolutely up the wall sometimes, but, I think that we have a really special bond, and, we love each other incredibly much! In my past years at Hogwarts, in unexplainable how much I've learned: I grew up in a half-blood family, so the younger years of my life occupied many aspects of both worlds- the Wizarding World, and the muggle world. I think that it helps to be in a magical school, and enables further learning and contribution to discussions, ideas, and course material, and, just, general thought, when you have first-hand experience with muggles, and their go-abouts, and the utilities that many of them use to function in their day-to-day lives, and some of the world-problems and global issues that they face, that won't, and don't, necessarily affect the witching and wizarding community. But, ultimately still, though I was introduced to my first magical quidditch broom by my mother when I was nine years old, which, I did practice riding, and have gotten quite good at utilizing- I play as a beater for the Gryffindor team!-, and grew up with The Tales of Beattle the Bard, and all sorts of magic around the house, and was kindly explained, as to what it all was, and what it meant, and that my mother was a witch, and that I was a witch as well, there were still a lot of new, surprising, incredible, beautiful, confusing, interesting, questionable, and, even scary, but all equally literally magical things, that I learned, saw, tasted, felt, heard, experienced, etc.! I adore the curriculum at Hogwarts (I was sorted into Gryffindor soon after the Sorting Hat was put onto my head, but I could feel that he was reading my thoughts, and experiences, quite literally, like a book, and I felt that there was a bit of a struggle between placing me in Gryffindor, vs. placing me in Ravenclaw (which, I thoroughly understand that inclination to put me in Ravenclaw, I think)), but I wish that there was some more focus on mathematic areas, some scientific areas of learning, more creative opportunities, in terms of free-time, literature, and penship, but, I think that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is, and it's teachers and educators are, incredible at teaching what the school does offer, and I especially value my head of house, Minerva McGonnagal, and her Transfiguration lessons! I also LOVE Charms class, and all that we learn there, and, though Professor Snape is unruly, cruel, and unjust at times (which I speak up about often), he is learned, and very knowledgable in his field, and relatively morally driven, so I learn what I can from his classes- and, Divination is... something. I do listen to Trewlaney teach, and try my hardest to do well in her class, and learn, but, I am sceptikal about some of her teachings, and teaching methods of teaching those teachings. I do love exploring the castle tons, though, and seeing what I can find (unless it's off limits, or we're expressly told that we're not allowed to enter a certain space, or domain, though, I have entered the restricted section in the library before (I LOVE THE LIBRARY IMMEASURABLY)), and the Astronomy Tower is truly a magical, and secluded space- I think that it feels different to be up there, than in anywhere else on Hogwarts grounds, though, ultimately, I think that there's something new to find, new challenges, new experiences, and new ideas, everywhere around Hogwarts!
